Noticing tiny black dots around the kitchen, on tiles, counters, even appliances? It’s usually not mold or soot. Most often, it’s spider droppings: thick, inky splats or drips that dry dark (black/brown, sometimes with white or gray streaks).
Check for the culprits in corners, behind appliances, under cabinets, and near windows where webs collect. The good news: it’s mostly a cleanliness issue, not a health hazard.

Clean-up: Wipe with warm soapy water first; for stubborn spots on hard, non-porous surfaces, use diluted vinegar or a mild bleach solution (spot-test).
Prevent: Vacuum webs, seal gaps, reduce indoor insects (their food), and use sticky traps or relocate spiders outside.
Mystery dots solved, and your kitchen back under control.
